The UNESCO PERSIST Digital Heritage Selection Guidelines – endorsed by IFLA, ICA and ICOM

The UNESCO PERSIST Project launched the UNESCO/PERSIST Guidelines for the selection of digital heritage for long-term preservation in March 2016. The Guidelines were created by experts from the libraries, archives, and museums community and have now been endorsed by all involved professional associations (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), The International Council on Archives (ICA) and the International Council of Museums (ICOM)).

The Guidelines adress institutions, professionals and administrators on every level and in every region of the world in order to review existing material for selection, highlight important issues, and offer guidance when drafting institutional policies.

We encourage everyone to use the Guidelines as a starting point for the institutional policies. If you do use the Guidelines, we would very much appreciate any feedback you have to improve them and make them truly usable for all communities.

Please send your feedback to: cultural.heritage@ifla.org
